Slow Down with the Rhythm of Breath

3 min

—

10 points

A soft rising-and-falling circle appears on screen. You can match your breath to it, but your own comfort matters most — holding your breath or hitting an exact count isn't required.

What are the benefits of this exercise?

Can help reduce body tension, restlessness, or excess activationGives you a chance to settle before a hard conversation, an important task, or sleepPracticed regularly, it becomes a familiar, easy skill to reach for under stress

How to do this exercise

Plant both feet firmly on the floor. Loosen your shoulders and jaw as much as you can. Breathe in slowly and naturally through your nose; optionally count 1 to 5. No need to force a deep breath. Exhale a little slower; count 1 to 5 again if you like, and try to feel it. After two or three breaths, notice how you feel — comfortable or uneasy. Stop if uneasy. If comfortable, continue for your chosen duration. Return to normal breathing and look around. Notice any change in body and mind.
